Frankfurt’s DAX 40 slipped 0.3% on Tuesday to trade below the 25,500 mark, retracing some of its strong gains from the start of the week and moving broadly in line with other major European indices. A renewed rise in oil prices and heightened geopolitical risks kept sentiment subdued, with investors closely watching the UN General Assembly for any signs of progress toward easing tensions in the Middle East.

US President Donald Trump is scheduled to address the assembly later today and has indicated he may be open to meeting Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, adding a further focal point for markets.

Sector-wise, insurers, banks, and automakers were among the weakest performers, while utilities, technology shares, and retailers posted the biggest gains. Notable decliners included Allianz, Vonovia, Deutsche Bank, BMW, and Mercedes-Benz Group, which lost between 1% and 2.3%. On the upside, RWE rose 1.4%, Scout24 gained 1.2%, and Adidas advanced 1%, leading the list of outperformers.
